Off and Away, All Day
Starting in Fall 2025, all New York State public schools—including Williamson Central—must implement state-mandated restrictions on student use of internet-enabled personal devices during the entire school day. This is part of Education Law Section 2803, and no opt-out is allowed by families or school districts.
The district's policy was developed through a collaborative process involving staff unions, parents, and students. The district held various meetings and conducted an online survey in spring 2025 to gather feedback and ensure the policy reflects community concerns and priorities. Together, we are committed to creating a focused, distraction-free learning environment for all students.
