A Williamson Elementary newcomer experienced a memorable day this year after being selected to participate in the community’s Shop with a Cop event. For a student who is new to the district, the experience was especially meaningful thanks to the kindness and care shown by our School Resource Officer, Deputy Wilson, along with a colleague from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

The deputies took time to help the student and family feel comfortable and welcomed, creating an experience rooted in connection and community.

Adding to the fun was Julio Cesar, a beloved dog whose presence brought laughter and lighthearted moments throughout the day. His visit sparked smiles and joy, making the experience even more memorable for everyone involved.

The joy continued afterward during a visit with another newcomer to the community, an elementary student who recently joined the district. The student had expressed excitement about meeting Julio Cesar, and the visit quickly turned into a joyful and playful interaction. The moment reflected the happiness that comes from feeling seen, supported, and connected in a new environment.

These experiences highlight the strength of our community partnerships and the culture of care that defines Williamson Central Schools.
