Christina Denniston has been a Wayne County deputy sheriff for five years, three of which she has spent as a school resource officer. Prior to coming to Williamson, Denniston worked in the North Rose-Wolcott and Sodus school districts. She is excited to get to work in Williamson and build relationships with students, staff and the community. “I’m most looking forward to building connections with kids and families,” she said.
Denniston’s day-to-day duties will include monitoring the schools for safety concerns, being present in the hallways, and being available to any students who have concerns or need help. She plans to attend district events and be present during arrival and dismissal so families can get to know her.
Denniston has received Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) and Crisis Intervention Team training, has been trained in responding to children with disabilities, and taught a class about healthy relationships and communication skills. She prioritizes continual training and attends SRO conferences and events to further immerse herself in her role.
In her spare time, Denniston enjoys hiking and spending time with her two dogs.
