The Williamson Central School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Drechsler as the next Principal of Williamson Elementary School, effective on July 21, 2025.

Mr. Drechsler brings over 20 years of experience in public education and a strong foundation in instructional leadership. He currently serves as the Director of Pupil Personnel Services and Special Education in the Penfield Central School District. His prior experience also includes roles within the Rochester City School District as a Special Education Teacher and as Coordinating Administrator of Special Education.

Throughout his career, Mr. Drechsler has demonstrated a consistent commitment to inclusive practices, collaborative leadership, and student-centered decision-making. He holds certifications in Special Education (K–12), Elementary Education (PreK–6), and as a School District Leader. Mr. Drechsler earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Niagara University, a master’s degree in Education from SUNY Brockport, and a Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS) in Educational Leadership, also from SUNY Brockport.

“I’m truly honored to join Williamson Central School District as your new Elementary Principal,” said Drechsler. “With deep respect for the district’s rich history and strong community, I look forward to building on the positive culture that defines Williamson. I believe that relationships, trust, and high expectations are the foundation for student success. I’m excited to partner with staff, families, and the community to ensure every child feels safe, supported, and inspired to thrive. I can’t wait to get started, connect with you all, and grow together as a school community.”

Superintendent Bridget Ashton shared her excitement about the appointment: “Mr. Drechsler emerged as the clear choice after a rigorous, inclusive search process that included input from teachers, support staff, clerical staff, parents, and administrators. His strong leadership background and commitment to student well-being make him an excellent fit to lead our elementary school into its next chapter.”

The district is also grateful to Interim Principal Ellen Saxby, who will continue in her role through July 18 to help support a smooth transition.

Williamson Central School District looks forward to welcoming Mr. Drechsler and working alongside him to support the continued success of its students, staff, and families. Opportunities for the Williamson learning community to meet Mr. Drechsler (sdrechsler@williamsoncentral.org) will be scheduled soon... Stay tuned for more information!
