The Williamson Central School District is proud to announce the appointment of Mrs. Chelsea Northrop as the next High School Assistant Principal and District Data Coordinator, effective July 1, 2025.

Superintendent of Schools Bridget Ashton expressed her enthusiasm about the announcement:

“I could not be more pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Chelsea Northrop as the next Assistant Principal/Data Coordinator at the High School. Mrs. Northrop has demonstrated herself to be a reflective lead learner, a champion for students, learning and teaching, and a genuine source of positivity and growth mindset in her approach to building and nurturing relationships with all stakeholders.”
Ms. Ashton emphasized the importance of community input in the selection process:
“Stakeholders took the time to identify the qualities that matter most to our school community. I am confident that she will serve as a humble, extremely capable and competent leader for the district.”

Mrs. Northrop brings a strong background in teaching, leadership, and data-informed instruction. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Binghamton University, a Master of Science in Math, Science, and Technology Education from St. John Fisher College, and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Leadership from SUNY Fredonia, with certification in both building- and district-level administration.

Her teaching career began in 2010 at Binghamton High School, where she taught math for seven years and was selected for the NYS Master Teacher Program. She later joined the faculty at Vestal High School, continuing her work as an educator and participating in a locally acclaimed teacher performance group, The Math Divas.

In 2021, Northrop returned to her hometown of Ontario with her husband and two children, continuing her teaching career at Canandaigua Academy. Most recently, she served as Assistant Principal for Ontario Summer School through Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES, where she coordinated programming and daily operations—further fueling her passion for leadership and data-driven school improvement.

“I hope my enthusiasm for supporting educators and dedication to putting students first will be a welcome addition to the Williamson community’s core values, deep roots, and bright futures,” said Northrop. “I am thankful for this opportunity to be a part of the Williamson community.”

Mrs. Northrop is eager to connect with students, staff, and families and contribute to a positive and collaborative school environment at Williamson High School.
