Williamson Middle School’s 8th grade students recently returned from a remarkable journey to Washington, D.C., where history came alive beyond the classroom walls. Organized by our dedicated Travel Club advisors, Mr. Baker and Mrs. Lavallee, the trip provided students with unforgettable experiences and powerful learning opportunities.
From iconic sites like the White House, the Capitol, and Arlington National Cemetery to the Library of Congress, students were immersed in the foundations of American democracy. The group also explored the spookier side of our nation’s capital during a guided ghost tour with National Nightmares—an exciting way to connect with D.C.'s lesser-known past.
The adventure continued with visits to the Natural History Museum, the American History Museum, and the Holocaust Memorial Museum. Each location sparked curiosity, critical thinking, and deep discussion among students, bringing their classroom studies to life in meaningful ways.
We are incredibly grateful to the chaperones—Mr. Rockow, Ms. DeLyser, Mr. Kritall, Mr. Lock, Ms. Abdunnasir, Mr. Baker, Mrs. Lavallee—who supported our students throughout this enriching experience. Their guidance helped make this trip one our students will never forget.
