The spotlight was on Williamson Central School District during this year’s Stars of Tomorrow ceremony—and our students delivered a performance to remember! Held at the West Herr Auditorium Theatre in front of a crowd of more than 2,500 people, the night celebrated high school musical theater excellence across the Rochester region. And Williamson stood out in a big way.

The district’s production received a flood of accolades, including:

  • Excellence in Production Crew

  • Excellence in Production Design

  • Excellence in Dance Ensemble

  • Individual Achievement in Performance awards for Nathan Brandt, Owen Benschneider, and Tori Webster

  • Recognition as a Top 10 Production for Small Schools

This marks the first time since 2019 that Williamson has cracked the coveted Top 10 list—an incredible return to the regional stage spotlight.

“I personally think that it went very well this year considering that there were 48 schools instead of the usual 42,” said cast member Dieurinise Piris. “The place was very packed but I liked it that way more because some of the musicals there, I didn't know existed until I saw them on stage Friday night... It was amazing and I can’t wait for next year!”

A show-stopping moment of the night... Junior Nathan Brandt was nominated for the prestigious Jimmy Awards in New York City. Out of over 300 performers, only 40 were selected to move forward to this nationally recognized competition—and Nathan earned his place among the best of the best. This is the first time since 2017 that a Williamson student has been nominated for the Jimmy Awards, which are considered the Tony Awards for high school performers.

“We are incredibly proud of our students and staff for their exceptional work on this year’s production,” said E. Bridget Ashton, Superintendent of Schools. “Earning a spot in the Top 10 and receiving multiple awards is a testament to their talent, dedication, and teamwork. Nathan Brandt’s nomination for the Jimmy Awards is a once-in-a-lifetime achievement and a proud moment not just for our school, but for our entire community.”

From dazzling dance numbers to expert stagecraft, every part of the production—from cast to crew—was recognized for excellence. The energy, dedication, and talent shown by Williamson students brought down the house and reminded the entire region what #MarauderPride looks like.

Congratulations to the entire cast, crew, and creative team! Your hard work and passion lit up the stage and made history for Williamson once again.
