Williamson Central School is thrilled to announce that the Williamson PTSA has been honored with two incredible awards from the NYS PTA:

Savvy Membership Award for October 2024

Trailblazer Membership Award for the 2024-2025 year

"These achievements wouldn't be possible without the dedication and support of our amazing members and volunteers — a wonderful mix of parents, District teachers and staff, and community members," said PTSA President Veronica Weber. "Your commitment to our students, teachers, and community makes all the difference! Thank you for helping us continue to grow and make a positive impact at Williamson."

Alysha Peets - Treasurer
Patty Kimerly - Secretary

High School: Emma Abrams

Our PTSA a volunteer organization of parents, staff, students, grandparents and local community members that creates a village of support to meet the needs of our schools and students.

There are more than 50 members who encompass the WCS PTSA. Ms. Nancy Miller, Williamson Middle School teacher and PTSA member, believes those people and their connections to the District and community are a vital pillar of the school's support system.

"The relationships the PTSA builds with educators, administrators, families and local organizations strengthens the schools they serve, and as a result, the communities they live in,” she said.

Whether it be as a volunteer at the Scholastic Book Fair or as a fundraiser to sponsor an event, the PTSA provides an opportunity for families to take an active part in their child’s school experience. District staples like Freshman Orientation, UPK Graduation and Big Pumpkin Day happen in part because of the planning and staffing of PTSA volunteers.

Ms. Ellen Saxby, our Elementary School Principal, is grateful to the PTSA for the support they provide the District.

"By working with school staff and administrators, you build a unique relationship that gives you access 'behind the curtain' to see the needs of the classrooms and schools firsthand," Ms. Saxby said. "Our PTSA is deeply involved and passionate about what goes on in our schools, and they're always looking for ways to help and enhance our students' experiences every day."

The PTSA is proud to include members from all corners of Williamson's community, whether they are stay at home parents, working parents, retirees, local business owners or members of local civic organizations. The PTSA provides an opportunity for community members to share their voice and talents with the school district in many capacities, and new members are always welcome.

For the first time, Williamson's PTSA membership has crested 50 members this year. PTSA President Veronica Weber said that uptick in current membership numbers and dues has allowed the PTSA to be able to be able to offer the opportunity in applying for a scholarship from the NYS PTA to support a student.

The Williamson PTSA meets monthly in the Elementary School library. Membership dues are typically $10 annually per person, but there are other options to contribute, either by making a donation or increasing membership by $5 per student enrolled in the District or additional family member. Complete information can be found in the 2024-25 Membership Form (click here to download a PDF).
