Williamson Middle School hosts 5th Annual Veterans Day Celebration
Thursday morning, Williamson Middle School students, staff, and administrators welcomed local veterans and their families for the 5th Annual Veterans Day Celebration. The event included musical performances by the 5th/6th Grade Chorus, 7th/8th Grade Choir, and the 7th/8th Grade Band.
Mr. Fulmer, Williamson Middle School Principal, gave the keynote speech, remembering his father who was a World War II veteran. Student speakers from each grade demonstrated core values by sharing meaningful quotes with the audience, and New York State Senator Pam Helming also took the podium to thank the veterans in attendance and share words of wisdom with the students. Assemblyman Brian Manktelow was also in attendance.
Following the presentation in the auditorium, which both opened and closed with a bagpiper, the veterans and their families headed to the cafeteria for brunch. Student volunteers served the service members coffee and breakfast, while thanking the veterans for their service.
